Materials can have a great impact on the total footprint of an article of clothing. We source our materials based on three main guidelines.

Resource usage

We look for materials that use less resources in their growing area. For example, one kilogram of cotton can use 22,500 liters of water in areas where the local population faces a water shortage. We prefer materials that are recycled, surplus, or low-impact.

Renewability

Whenever possible we avoid using limited resources and petroleum products.

End-of-life

Clothes don’t last forever but many of the clothes on the market today will be around long after they’re worn out. We seek out biodegradable and recyclable materials for usage as often as possible.
